Cornerstone Family Camp 2008

Sandy had the kids do a pirate craft to make their own pirate hats, complete with tattoos and a treasure hunt.
Grace fell down right before craft time so her hand still hurt and this look never really left her face until they found the treasure.
Argh, matey. Me thinks Maddy is making a pirate face a little too well.

Rum! Where's me rum!??

Birthday at Snowbird

Lee and the girls took me to Snowbird for a birthday outing. We rode the tram and survived to enjoy the beautiful view at the top.

Gracie's Ballet Class

Cute!

Gracie started her ballet class this week. When I asked her if she wanted ballet or tap she said "Ballet. They have pink shoes and a pink dress." Her decision was made entirely upon the color and cuteness of the shoe which unquestionably made tap dancing the loser. (Trust me, I tried to push the tap but when she asked me if the tap shoes were pink I had to tell her the truth and say no. And so, she chose ballet, much to her mother's dismay.)

I wasn't able to get very good pictures this go round but will definitely try for more next class. Stay posted!

Fishing. Sort of...

Long story short, our truck broke in Midway over the weekend so we had to drive back on Monday to pick it up. We thought we'd let the girls try out fishing in a little pond nearby. It was the middle of the day and we have a history of never catching fish so, of course, we did not catch fish. The girls seemed disappointed until they were too hungry and thirsty to care. Lee and Maddy ended up on the other side of the pond to avoid our lines crossing. (Yes, Lee and I were casting.) We are the wrong people to teach them about fishing, that's for sure!
Even though she didn't catch a fish Grace looks darn cute doing it!

Museum of Ancient Life

Lee and I took the girls and Peter to the Museum of Ancient Life a couple of weeks ago.
Maddy decided that the sloth behind her must have eaten healthier than Sid the Sloth (Ice Age) because it grew a lot bigger than Sid.
Gracie's not too thrilled with this shark.

Maddy and Peter enjoyed playing in the water/sand tables but Gracie quickly ended up playing a "show game" nearby.

Future paleontologists?

'Peter Days' aka Thursdays

The girls LOVE Peter. They like to 'help' him eat, as long as it's his food and not theirs.
All three of them are water babies so we will probably be out in the pool a lot this summer!

Athlete Maddy and Photographer Gracie

Maddy's sport this week was baseball. She said it wasn't as fun as soccer but I think part of her problem was that the bats were too heavy.
Gracie and I play at the playground or in the car while Maddy is at Sports Class.

Sometimes we play with the camera. Grace took these two pictures...

Of course, Maddy made friends with the only other girl in the class on the very first day. They are such good friends now that EVERYONE must hug before we can leave. She's determined to make me sociable.
